The CECT Scan Both Clavicle is an imaging technique that gives a clear view of the clavicle or the collar bone. This procedure helps detect any disorders of the collar bone like infections, injuries, or fractures of the collar bone. It also helps detect any inflammation of the surrounding muscles or tendons.
In this procedure, a special dye called contrast material is injected through a vein. Then, the rotating beams of an X-Ray are used to create a three-dimensional image of the clavicle.
A hospital gown is provided before this procedure, and the patient is advised to remove any jewelry or metallic items from their body. Pregnant women are advised to inform the doctor as the radiation could affect the developing fetus.
