c erb B2 (Her2) by IHC

The c erb B2 (Her2) by IHC test is used to check the presence of the Her2 protein in cancer tissue, most commonly in breast cancer. Her2 is a growth-promoting protein found on the surface of some cancer cells. When present in high amounts, it may indicate a more aggressive form of cancer. This test helps doctors understand whether the tumor is Her2-positive, which means it may respond well to targeted therapies such as trastuzumab. Knowing the Her2 status is important for choosing the most effective treatment and planning personalized care for the patient.
Note: One representative block of the tumor is required. However, 1-4 representative blocks of tumors are acceptable.
