Acute myeloid leukemias (AMLs) are a heterogeneous group of most common leukemias characterized by the clonal expansion of myeloid blasts (eg, undifferentiated myeloid precursors) in the peripheral blood, bone marrow, and/or other tissues, which results in impaired hematopoiesis and bone marrow failure. This test contributes to a better understanding of the molecular basis of the disease, diagnosis, prognosis, and monitoring of AML, and the possibility of predicting each individual response to the treatment.
