3D CT of Neck is an X-ray imaging technique. It helps to get clear and detailed 3D pictures of the inside of the body like bones and tissues, organs, blood vessels, neck muscles, abnormal tissue growth and faint skin edges. A high dose of X-rays captures hundreds to thousands of 2D images built into 3-D pictures. The scan usually takes 10 to 30 minutes, or even less.
Possible side effects of X-rays can be nausea, vomiting, or abdominal cramps. Pregnant women must inform the doctor beforehand. Abnormal CT results of the neck can be due to cancerous growth, blood vessel constriction, head trauma, or bone defects. So talk to your doctor if you experience any symptoms of pain in the face or neck.
