A CECT Scan Triple Phase KUB (Kidney, Ureter & Bladder) is an advanced imaging technique that uses a three-phase spiral CT with native, arterial, and portal perfusion phases. The region to be scanned is injected with a radiocontrast medium. This test mainly covers the kidney, ureter, and bladder regions.
This test is prescribed by the doctor to detect and diagnose conditions affecting renal structure and functioning, to detect the presence of tumors (abnormal growth) in the kidneys or bladder, to detect lesions or abscesses in the kidneys, and to assess the efficacy of a kidney transplant.
CT exams generally use a small amount of radiation and are therefore considered relatively safer as compared to X-rays.
