A CT Scan Aortogram Angiography (CTA) is a scan that evaluates your upper body's blood supply. The pictures aid in the detection and diagnosis of aortic and aortic branch diseases such as atherosclerosis. Any obstructions or abnormalities in the chest arteries caused by accidents or injuries that may damage the blood arteries in the chest require a CT aortogram. CT aortography is safe, quick, and allows for noninvasive assessment of the aorta.
Serum creatinine results (no more than four weeks old) are necessary to assess the health of your kidneys if contrast media is used to improve picture quality during the scan. The values assist in determining the sort of contrast medium to be used (as some contrast media may damage kidneys).
