The Chlamydia Trachomatis, IgG test detects the presence of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies in the blood against chlamydia trachomatis, a bacteria that causes a sexually transmitted infection (STI) called chlamydia. IgG antibodies are produced by the immune system in the later stage of the infection and persist in the blood for a longer time indicating past or ongoing chlamydia infection. This test is widely available with Tata 1mg labs at an affordable price in Howrah.
The Chlamydia Trachomatis, IgG test can be done as a part of routine screening in sexually active individuals with symptoms suggestive of a Chlamydia infection; individuals at risk of STI and those with a history of unprotected sexual activity; and individuals with multiple sexual partners. It can also be done in pregnant women as part of routine prenatal screening to identify past exposure to chlamydia infection. Additionally, this test helps monitor antibiotic treatment response against this bacteria and the recurrence of infection.
