Orampho 50mg Injection works by binding to ergosterol, an important component of the cell membrane of fungi and the parasite that causes leishmaniasis. This binding creates pores in the membrane, leading to leakage of cell contents and death of the organism. The liposomal formulation helps deliver the drug more selectively to infected tissues, reduces toxicity to healthy cells, and improves safety, especially for the kidneys, while maintaining strong antifungal and antiparasitic activity.
