Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Zilarta-CT 40 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Zilarta-CT 40 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Azilsartan and Chlorthalidone which lower blood pressure effectively. Azilsartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin thereby relaxing blood vessels.This allows the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body. Over time it also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow.

- You have been prescribed Zilarta-CT 40 Tablet for the treatment of high blood pressure.
It can be taken with or without food.
Zilarta-CT 40 Tablet may cause dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids and Inform your doctor if you develop extreme thirst, muscle weakness or very dry mouth.
- It may cause dizziness. Get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.
- Zilarta-CT 40 Tablet is not safe to use if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
- It may also decrease the risk of stroke and heart attacks.
Zilarta-CT Tablet related warnings
Taking Chlorthalidone with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.
WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Zilarta-CT 40 Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Zilarta-CT 40 Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation.
Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Zilarta-CT 40 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Zilarta-CT 40 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Zilarta-CT 40 Tablet is not recommended in these patients.
