Your child’s medicine at a glance

Zerotuss XP Drop makes it easier for your child to cough out the mucus by increasing its water content and making it thin enough to be coughed out. Give this medicine to your child by mouth with or without food along with a full glass of water. If your child develops an upset stomach, prefer giving it with food.


You may require to give this medicine to your child for a few days to weeks, depending upon the severity of the infection. For maximum benefit, do not stop the medication abruptly by yourself even if your child starts to feel better and continue the medicine until the full prescribed course. Do not give more than the prescribed dose for fast relief as it may cause unwanted effects and worsen your child's condition.

Zerotuss XP Drop will also relieve allergy symptoms like watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose or throat irritation. Along with medications, drink enough luke warm water and gargle with warm salt water to ease the symptoms.

Sore throat refers to pain and discomfort in the throat that is usually seen in bacterial or viral infections. Zerotuss XP Drop works quite quickly to reduce the pain and discomfort for your child. It helps soothe the irritated throat and speeds up the recovery process.

How Zerotuss XP Oral Drops works

Zerotuss XP Drop is a combination of three medicines: Ambroxol, Levosalbutamol, and Guaifenesin, which relieves cough with mucus. Ambroxol is a mucolytic that thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Levosalbutamol is a bronchodilator. It works by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widens the airways. Guaifenesin is an expectorant that decreases the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and helps in its removal from the airways. Together, they make breathing easier.

  • Give the medicine with food along with a glass of water to avoid stomach upset in your child.
  • Practice self-care tips:
    1. Give plenty of fluids as it helps to loosen and expel the mucus
    2. Avoid giving dairy and caffeinated products, spicy and fried food to your child as all these may irritate the airways and trigger coughing 
    3. A teaspoon of honey may also help to ease out a cough reflex
    4. Ask your child to gargle with warm salt water as it eases the expelling of mucus
