How to use VM-Guard Cream

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

How VM-Guard Cream works

VM-Guard Cream is a combination of different antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory medications. Chlorocresol helps prevent or reduce the growth of bacteria and fungi on the skin's surface. Clioquinol, on the other hand, is an antifungal and antibacterial agent that is effective against a wide range of fungal and bacterial species. In combination with chlorocresol, it provides broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity to combat infections. Clobetasol has strong anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. It helps to reduce inflammation, redness, swelling, and itching associated with various skin conditions. Gentamicin targets and inhibits protein synthesis in certain bacteria. Ketoconazole causes holes to appear in the fungus's cell membrane and their contents to leak out. This kills the fungus and treats the infection.

Quick tips

  • Before applying this combination ointment, clean the affected area with mild soap and water and pat it dry gently.
  • Do not apply the cream on open wounds, cuts, or broken or damaged skin unless advised by a healthcare professional.
  • If you experience any signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing, discontinue the use of this ointment and seek medical attention immediately.
