Product introduction

Vasograin Plus Tablet is a combination of two medicines used in the treatment of migraine. It relieves the symptoms of migraines and prevents the attack from becoming worse. This medicine helps by narrowing the blood vessels, thereby relieving migraine headaches.

Vasograin Plus Tablet should be taken with food. However, it is advised to take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better and if you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember. You should continue to take this medicine for as long as your doctor advises and do not stop taking it suddenly.

Side effects associated with the use of this medicine include nausea, heartburn, chest discomfort, dry mouth, weakness, muscle stiffness, drowsiness, numbness of extremities, and irregular heartbeats. However, these are usually temporary and usually resolve on their own. Please consult your doctor if these do not subside or worry you.

It may also cause sleepiness at the beginning of your treatment, so do not drive, operate machinery, until you know how this medicine affects you. This medicine may cause changes in your mood and you may feel depressed, therefore, regular monitoring of behavior is important. Pregnant or breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctor before taking this medicine.

Inform your doctor if you are suffering from any heart problems, as the use of Vasograin Plus Tablet is contraindicated in some heart diseases. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is required while taking this medicine. Consult your doctor and stop this medicine if you develop severe chest or stomach pain, bloody diarrhea, or significantly high blood pressure, after taking this medicine.

How Vasograin Plus Tablet works

Vasograin Plus Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Sumatriptan and Naproxen that treat migraine. Sumatriptan is a selective 5HT1-receptor agonist which relieves headache by narrowing the widened blood vessels in the head. Naproxen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which blocks the release of certain chemical messengers and decreases general inflammation and pain caused due to migraine.

Breast feeding

Vasograin Plus Tablet is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.

Driving

Vasograin Plus Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision, or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Vasograin Plus Tablet may make you feel dizzy, depressed, sleepy, tired, or make it difficult to sleep. It may also affect your vision. This may affect your driving ability.

Kidney

CAUTION

Vasograin Plus Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.

Liver

Vasograin Plus Tablet is unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided.

What if you forget to take Vasograin Plus Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Vasograin Plus Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

This medicine should be taken only if you have a migraine attack and not to prevent it.
Some tips that may help avoid a migraine attack:
- Have your meals at the same time everyday
- Avoid bright lights and extreme temperatures
- Avoid loud music and noisy places
- Avoid chocolates, cheese, processed food, alcohol and smoking
- Get enough sleep and avoid stress
Take it as soon as you experience warning signs like being sensitive to light or sound. Take 1 tablet at a time and do not take more than 2 doses in one day.
It may cause sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how Vasograin Plus Tablet affects you.
