Vasicon Eye Drop is to be used only in the affected eye in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Wash your hands before using this medicine. It is advised to check the label for directions before use. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of the treatment even if you feel better.

Use of this medicine may cause a burning and stinging sensation on application. These effects are usually temporary and resolve with time. However, if they persist or worsen, inform the doctor. In case of accidental contact with your ears, nose, or mouth, immediately rinse that area with water.

Inform the doctor if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients in this medicine or are taking any other medication. It is advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery immediately after using this medicine, as it may cause temporary blurring of vision and affect your ability to drive.

How to use Vasicon Ophthalmic Solution

This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off extra liquid.

How Vasicon Ophthalmic Solution works

Vasicon Eye Drop is a combination of naphazoline and pheniramine. Naphazoline is a decongestant that narrows the swollen blood vessels of the eye to relieve inflammation (redness and swelling). Pheniramine works as an antagonist to allergic symptoms resulting from inappropriate histamine release and reduces itching, edema, and redness in the affected eye.

Quick tips

Vasicon Eye Drop should usually be used about four times a day (in the morning and the evening).
To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface.
After applying the Vasicon Eye Drop, close your eyes, and place one finger at the corner of your eye. Apply gentle pressure for 1 to 2 minutes before opening your eyes. This will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink or rub your eyes.
If you normally wear contact lenses, please wear your spectacles instead until your doctor advises you that it is suitable for you to wear lenses again.

How many times should I use Vasicon Eye Drop?

Put 1 or 2 drops of Vasicon Eye Drop in the affected eye(s) up to 4 times daily. In case of any doubt always consult your doctor. Do not give it to children without consulting a doctor.

What is the right way to use Vasicon Eye Drop?

Before using the Vasicon Eye Drop, wash your hands thoroughly. Shake the bottle and tilt your head back slightly. Pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Hold the dropper above the eye and squeeze a drop into this pocket. Close your eyes for 1 or 2 minutes. Do not touch the tip of the eye dropper or place it directly on your eye. A contaminated dropper can infect your eye, which could lead to serious vision problems. Gently press your finger over the inside corner of your eye (over the eyelid) for about a minute. This helps prevent the drop from draining out of the eye. Repeat in your other eye if your doctor has told you to do this.

Is it fine to use other eye medicines along with Vasicon Eye Drop?

This eye drop may be used along with other eye drops if prescribed by your doctor. However, maintain a 10-15 minutes interval between both medications.

How long should I keep my eyes shut after using the Vasicon Eye Drop?

After using the eye drops you should close your eyes for at least 2-3 minutes so that the medicine does not run off and get absorbed in the eye.

Can I use Vasicon Eye Drop with contact lenses?

No, you should remove your contact lenses before instilling the Vasicon Eye Drop. You can re-insert the lenses 15 minutes after using the eye drop. Contact your doctor if there is any eye irritation that persists.

Does Vasicon Eye Drop cause a burning sensation in the eyes?

Yes, when you instil the eye drops for the first time, it can make your eyes watery and can cause a slight burning sensation. If this happens, it will subside quickly. Inform your doctor if the discomfort continues for a longer period.

Is Vasicon Eye Drop safe to use for a long time?

Vasicon Eye Drop should not be used beyond the prescribed duration. Please talk to your doctor if you do not see any improvement in your symptoms. They may change the dose or probably prescribe a different medicine.

Should I keep the Vasicon Eye Drop in the refrigerator?

You do not need to refrigerate Vasicon Eye Drop after opening the bottle. However, store it in a cool place below 30℃. Make sure to use it within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
