Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time. However, it works differently when you take it on an empty stomach or a full stomach. So, take it the same way every time.
Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Valdecoxib and Tizanidine which relieve pain and relax the muscles. Valdecoxib is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Tizanidine is a muscle relaxant. It works on the centres in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and to improve pain and movement of muscles.
Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.

Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Valus XT 20 mg/2 mg Tablet is not advised in patients with severe liver disease. Liver function tests are recommended before the start of treatment and then on a regular basis as advised.
