How to use Ultraspas Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ultraspas Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Ultraspas Tablet works

Ultraspas Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Dicyclomine, Paracetamol and Tramadol. Dicyclomine is an anti-cholinergic which relaxes the muscles in the stomach and gut (intestine) and stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms). By doing this, it relieves cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-pyretic (fever reducer) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause fever and pain. Tramadol is an opioid analgesic (pain reliever) which works by blocking transmission of pain signals to the brain to lower pain perception.

CAUTION
Taking Dicyclomine+Paracetamol/Acetaminophen+Tramadol with alcohol can cause liver damage.
Pregnancy
WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Ultraspas Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Ultraspas Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Ultraspas Tablet may cause side effects such as drowsiness and blurred vision. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Ultraspas Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Ultraspas Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
CAUTION
Ultraspas Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Ultraspas Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Inform your doctor as soon as possible if you experience any persistent problem while taking this medication.
Q. Can I stop taking Ultraspas when my pain is relieved?
Ultraspas is usually used for short term and can be discontinued when your pain is relieved. However, Ultraspas should be continued if your physician has advised you to do so.
Q. Can the use of Ultraspas cause constipation?
Yes, the use of Ultraspas can cause constipation. To prevent constipation eat high-fiber foods like vegetables, fruits, cereals and drink plenty of water. Do some exercises like swimming, jogging or take a short walk. Talk to your doctor about taking some medicines to treat constipation if this persists for a long time.
Q. Can the use of Ultraspas cause dry mouth?
Yes, the use of Ultraspas can cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water. Take regular sips during the day and keep some water by your bed at night. You may use lip balm if your lips are also dry.
Q. Can I take a higher than the recommended dose of this medicine?
No, taking a higher than the recommended dose of Ultraspas can increase the chances of side effects. If you are experiencing increased severity of pain or if the pain is not relieved by the recommended doses, please consult your doctor for re-evaluation.
Q. Are there any specific contraindications associated with the use of Ultraspas?
The use of Ultraspas is considered to be harmful for patients with known allergy to any of the component or excipients of this medicine. Patients who regularly consume alcohol or have an underlying severe renal or liver disease are advised to be cautious.
Q. What is the recommended storage condition for the Ultraspas?
