Ultigel should be used as directed by your doctor. Do not use it more than the recommended dose. Use it in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Apply it only on the affected areas of the mouth with a clean hand. Avoid swallowing the medicine.

Ultigel is a treatment for fast, effective relief of pain from mouth ulcers. It stops pain by producing a feeling of numbness at the site of application. Ultigel also reduces redness, swelling, promotes healing of the ulcers, and prevents infection. It is advisable to reapply Ultigel after every 3-4 hours for better results.

How Ultigel Dental Gel works

Ultigel is a combination of two medicines: Benzocaine and Chlorhexidine Gluconate. Benzocaine is a local anesthetic. It works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain which decreases sensation of pain. Chlorhexidine Gluconate is an antiseptic and disinfectant. It works by binding to the surface of teeth, inner cheeks and gums. This kills the infectious microorganisms that cause gum disease, ulcers, and other mouth infections.

Avoid eating and drinking immediately after applying Ultigel.
Avoid putting dentures or braces back in the mouth for half an hour after applying the gel in your mouth.
Use a soft toothbrush after consulting your dentist.
Avoid spicy foods, acidic fruit drinks and very salty foods (such as crisps) which can make the pain and stinging worse.
Do not smoke while using Ultigel as it might cause some side effects.
Consult your doctor if your pain does not improve after using this medication for 7-14 days, or if your symptoms get worse.
