How Ultigel Dental Gel works
Ultigel is a combination of two medicines: Benzocaine and Chlorhexidine Gluconate. Benzocaine is a local anesthetic. It works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain which decreases sensation of pain. Chlorhexidine Gluconate is an antiseptic and disinfectant. It works by binding to the surface of teeth, inner cheeks and gums. This kills the infectious microorganisms that cause gum disease, ulcers, and other mouth infections.

Frequently asked questions
Ultigel is used in the mouth to ease pain and reduce germs in conditions like mouth ulcers, gum irritation (gingivitis), sore spots from dentures or braces, and after a minor dental procedure.
Yes. A thin application of Ultigel on the mouth ulcer can temporarily numb pain and help keep the area cleaner while it heals.
Yes. Ultigel can calm sore spots caused by rubbing and reduce bacterial buildup on irritated gums. Apply only to the sore tissue, not on orthodontic hardware.
Use Ultigel only if a dentist or pediatrician advises. Ultigel contains benzocaine, and products that contain this are not routinely prescribed for young children. Professional guidance is important for safe dental use.
The exact time Ultigel relief pain is not known. However, numbness usually starts within minutes of the applied spot. Antiseptic benefits support cleanliness as you continue your dentist‑advised oral care.
Yes. Keep brushing and flossing along with Ultigel. If using other medicated rinses, separate their use by a little time so products don’t wash each other away.
Ultigel can be used for short‑term relief of sore tissues and to support hygiene around gums. People with periodontal disease should use it as part of a dentist‑directed plan.
Along with Ultigel use, following some habits such as gentle brushing, flossing/interdental cleaning, salt‑water rinses if advised, well‑fitting dentures/aligners, and avoiding spicy/acidic foods that worsen mouth soreness can speed up the healing.
