Product introduction

Tylen 100mg/2mg Tablet MR should be taken with food. This will prevent you from getting an upset stomach. You should take it regularly as advised by your doctor. Do not take more or use it for a longer duration than recommended by your doctor.

Using this medicine can cause some common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset, sleepiness, weakness, and increased liver enzymes. If any of these side effects bother you or do not go away with time, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may help with ways to reduce or prevent these side effects.

The medicine may not be suitable for everybody. Before taking it, let your doctor know if you have any problems with your heart, kidneys, or liver. To make sure it is safe for you, let your doctor also know all the other medicines you are taking. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should first consult their doctors before using the medicine.


Note: As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Tylen 100mg/2mg Tablet MR is banned for children under 12 years of age.

How Tylen Tablet MR works

Tylen 100mg/2mg Tablet MR is a combination of two medicines: Nimesulide and Tizanidine which relieve muscle pain. Nimesulide is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Tizanidine is a muscle relaxant. It works by acting on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve the muscle stiffness or spasm.

  • You have been prescribed Tylen 100mg/2mg Tablet MR to get relief from pain and stiffness in the muscles.
  • Take it with food or milk to prevent an upset stomach.
  • You may see results within 1.5 to 2 hours after taking Tylen 100mg/2mg Tablet MR. Take it exactly as advised by your doctor.
  • Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Tylen 100mg/2mg Tablet MR as it can increase your risk of stomach problems.
  • Inform your doctor if you have a history of seizures.
  • Along with taking Tylen 100mg/2mg Tablet MR, your doctor might advise you to undergo physiotherapy to get relief from muscle pain.
