Torex-SF Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

The most common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, indigestion, bloating, stomach pain, coordination impaired, headache, rash, sweating. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. This medicine can also cause sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can make sleepiness worse.

Never support self-medication or recommend your medicine to another person. It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking this medication. Before you start taking this medicine it is important to inform your doctor if you are suffering from liver or kidney disease. You should also tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy.

Torex-SF Syrup gives relief from cough with mucus. It helps to loosen thick mucus, making it easier to cough out. This makes breathing easy and reduces the frequency of coughing. Torex-SF Syrup will also relieve allergy symptoms like watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose or throat irritation. Torex-SF Syrup usually starts to work within a few minutes and the effects can last up to several hours. Along with medications, steam inhalation with few drops of eucalyptus oil can loosen mucus and reduce congestion. This will make you feel better.

How Torex-SF Syrup works

Diphenhydramine, guaifenesin, bromhexine and ammonium chloride which relieve cough. Diphenhydramine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Guaifenesin and ammonium chloride are expectorants which decrease the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and help in its removal from the airways. Bromhexine is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out.

Quick tips

Torex-SF Syrup relieves cough that is accompanied with mucus.
Drink extra fluids to help loosen the congestion and lubricate your throat while you are taking this medication.
It may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how it affects you.
If you are diabetic, monitor your blood glucose regularly while taking this medicine.
Inform your doctor if you have a history of thyroid or heart disease.
Stop taking Torex-SF Syrup and inform your doctor if your cough persists for more than 1 week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by a fever, rash or persistent headache.

Do not drink alcohol while you are taking this medicine. Torex-SF Syrup may cause excessive drowsiness when taken with alcohol.

Pregnancy

Torex-SF Syrup is not recommended during pregnancy as there is positive evidence of fetal risk based on animal studies. However, it may still be prescribed by a doctor in situations where the benefits outweigh the risks.

Breast feeding

Torex-SF Syrup may be unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby. It should be used only if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk. Please consult your doctor.

Driving

UNSAFE

Torex-SF Syrup may decrease alertness, affect your vision, or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney

CAUTION

Torex-SF Syrup should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.
