Product introduction

Ticrid-EP Tablet is a pain-relieving medicine. It is used to reduce pain and inflammation in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and osteoarthritis. It may also be used to relieve muscle pain, back pain, toothache, or pain in the ear and throat.

Ticrid-EP Tablet can be taken with or without food. You should take it regularly as advised by your doctor. Your doctor may change the dose and time between doses according to your pain level and your needs. Do not take more or use it for a longer duration than recommended by your doctor.

Some of the common side effects of this medicine include diarrhea, indigestion, stomach pain, flatulence, and swelling of hands and feet. If any of these side effects bother you or do not go away with time, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may help with ways to reduce or prevent these side effects by prescribing an alternative medicine or adjusting the dose.

It can help relieve pain in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis or even after a dental (tooth related) surgery.
Take it as it is prescribed to get the most benefit. Do not take more or for longer than needed as that can be dangerous. In general, you should take the lowest dose that works, for the shortest possible time. This will help you to go about your daily activities more easily and have a better, more active, quality of life.

How Ticrid-EP Tablet works

Ticrid-EP Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Etoricoxib and Paracetamol. Etoricoxib is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and Paracetamol is an antipyretic (fever reducer). They work by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and fever.

Use of Ticrid-EP Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
Ticrid-EP Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Ticrid-EP Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, the use of Ticrid-EP Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

What if you forget to take Ticrid-EP Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Ticrid-EP Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Can the use of Ticrid-EP Tablet cause dizziness?

Yes, the use of Ticrid-EP Tablet can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, it is better to rest for some time and resume once you feel better.

Are there any specific contraindications associated with the use of Ticrid-EP Tablet?

The use of Ticrid-EP Tablet is considered to be harmful for patients with known allergy to painkillers (NSAIDs) or any of the components or excipients of this medicine. . The use of this medicine should preferably be avoided in patients with a history of stomach ulcers or active, recurrent stomach ulcer / bleeding. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of heart failure, high blood pressure, and liver or kidney disease.

Can the use of Ticrid-EP Tablet cause damage to kidneys?

Yes, the long-term use of Ticrid-EP Tablet can cause damage to the kidneys. Normal kidneys produce a chemical called prostaglandins that protects them from damage. Use of painkillers lowers the levels of prostaglandins in the body leading to kidney damage on long-term use. Use of painkillers is not recommended to patients with underlying kidney disease.

Will Ticrid-EP Tablet be more effective if taken in higher doses?

No, taking more of this medicine will not make it more effective, rather it can lead to increased side effects. If the symptoms are getting severe, please consult the doctor for re-evaluation.

Can the use of Ticrid-EP Tablet cause damage to liver?

Ticrid-EP Tablet contains Paracetamol. These medicines are known to cause harm to the liver especially in the doses above the recommended level. Also, avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine, as it may further increase your risk of liver damage. Use of this medicine should preferably be avoided in patients with the underlying liver disease. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice any early signs and symptoms of liver damage These symptoms may include fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes and abnormal liver enzymes.

What are the instructions for storage and disposal of Ticrid-EP Tablet?

Keep this medicine in the container or the pack it came in, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose of the unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children and other people.

Can I stop taking Ticrid-EP Tablet when my pain is relieved?

Ticrid-EP Tablet, when used for long-term pain relief, should be continued for as long as advised by your doctor. It can be discontinued if you are using it for short-term pain relief.
