Set HP Kit is a combination of three medicines: amoxicillin, pantoprazole and clarithromycin which treat stomach/intestinal ulcers caused by the bacteria. Amoxicillin is an antibiotic which works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Clarithromycin is also an antibiotic which stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Together, they treat your infection effectively. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) which reduces the amount of acid in the stomach and relieves acid-related indigestion and heartburn.

Frequently asked questions about Set HP Kit
Q. Which is the best time to take Set hp?
Set hp may be taken every 8 hours or every 12 hours, depending on the dose prescribed by your doctor. It should be taken with a meal or snack to reduce the possibility of stomach upset. Many antibiotics can cause diarrhea. If diarrhea is severe or lasts more than 2 or 3 days, call your doctor.
Q. Can I stop the Set hp in between if I feel better?
When Set hp is prescribed to treat a bacterial infection, patients should be told that although it is common to feel better early in the course of therapy, the medicine should be taken exactly as directed. Skipping doses or not completing the full course of therapy may reduce the effectiveness of the immediate treatment and there are also chances that bacteria will develop resistance.
Q. What is Clostridium Difficile-Associated Disease?
Clostridium difficile is a common cause of hospital acquired infection, which produces a diarrhoeal disease that varies in severity from asymptomatic colonisation to severe diarrhea and complicating colitis. It is associated with diarrhea, fever, loss of appetite, nausea, abdominal pain/tenderness.
Peptic ulcers are open sores that develop on the inside lining of your stomach and the upper portion of your small intestine. The most common symptom of a peptic ulcer is stomach pain, feeling of fullness and nausea
Q. Are there any specific contraindications to the use of Set hp?
The use of Set hp is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to pantoprazole or domperidone or any other inactive ingredients of the medicine. Caution is advised in patients with underlying kidney or liver disease.
