Safeguard 75mg/200mcg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Diclofenac and Misoprostol which relieve pain. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by suppressing the production of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause inflammation (redness and swelling) and pain. However, it may lead to stomach upset or stomach ulcers. Misoprostol is a prostaglandin analogue which helps protect your stomach and prevents ulcers.
Taking diclofenac with alcohol can increase your risk of stomach bleeding.
Safeguard 75mg/200mcg Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Human and animal studies have shown significant adverse effects on the foetus. Please consult your doctor.
Safeguard 75mg/200mcg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation.
Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
