How Rexemp Junior Syrup works

Rexemp Junior Syrup is a combination of four medicines: ammonium chloride, chlorpheniramine, dextromethorphan, and guaifenesin. Ammonium chloride and guaifenesin are expectorants that decrease the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and help remove it from the airways. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic that relieves allergy symptoms such as a runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of the cough center in the brain.

Frequently asked questions

Rexemp Junior Syrup is used to relieve symptoms of cough and cold, such as throat irritation, mucus buildup (phlegm), runny nose, and sneezing. It contains a combination of medicines that help loosen mucus, reduce coughing, and control allergy symptoms. Thinning and clearing mucus and calming the cough reflex help make breathing and coughing more comfortable. It should be used only as advised by a doctor.
Rexemp Junior Syrup syrup may cause side effects in some people, although many tolerate it well. Common effects include dry mouth, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset, or drowsiness. Drinking plenty of fluids and eating light meals may help reduce stomach discomfort. Stop using Rexemp Junior Syrup and contact a doctor immediately if you develop severe rash, breathing difficulty, persistent vomiting, fainting, unusual sleepiness, or if symptoms worsen instead of improving.
Rexemp Junior Syrup is often easier on the stomach when taken after food, though the exact timing should follow your doctor’s advice. Taking it on an empty stomach may sometimes worsen acidity or stomach discomfort. Avoid very spicy or oily meals if they aggravate symptoms while using Rexemp Junior Syrup. If food timing is unclear, check with your doctor.
Rexemp Junior Syrup should be used only as advised by your doctor. Many cold and cough medicines contain similar ingredients, so combining them without medical advice may lead to duplicate doses and increased side effects. Always show your doctor or pharmacist all medicines you are taking before adding another product.
If you miss a dose of Rexemp Junior Syrup, take the next scheduled dose at the usual time unless your doctor has advised otherwise. Do not take two doses together to make up for the missed dose. If missed doses occur frequently, speak with your doctor about simplifying the dosing schedule.
Rexemp Junior Syrup should be given to children only if a doctor has recommended it for that child. The correct dose depends on the child’s age, weight, and illness. Monitor the child after giving the medicine and seek medical advice if the child becomes very sleepy, breathless, refuses feeds, or develops a rash.
Drinking water after taking Rexemp Junior Syrup syrup is generally acceptable unless your doctor has advised otherwise. Staying hydrated can help soothe throat irritation and support recovery during cough and cold.
Whether Rexemp Junior Syrup is suitable for wet cough depends on its ingredients and your symptoms. Some cough medicines help loosen mucus and make it easier to cough out, while others suppress the cough reflex. Your doctor will decide whether Rexemp Junior Syrup is appropriate based on the type of cough and your overall condition.
