Clobetasol Topical(0.05% w/w)


Clobetasol topical is used to treat itching, redness, dryness, inflammation, and discomfort of various scalp and skin conditions, including immune-mediated skin disease with red scaly patches (psoriasis).

How it works

Clobetasol belongs to a class of medications called as corticosteroids. It works by reducing the action of certain chemicals in the body that cause inflammation.

Clotrimazole Topical(1% w/w)


Clotrimazole topical is used for the treatment of fungal infections of the vagina, mouth, ear and skin, such as athlete's foot, jock itch, ringworm, thrush, or otitis externa (inflammation of outer ear).

How it works

Clotrimazole belongs to a class of medications called as antifungals. It works by preventing the growth of fungi that cause the infection.

Fusidic Acid Topical(2% w/w)


Fusidic acid topical is used alone or in combination with systemic therapy to treat conditions such as impetigo (weeping, crusty and swollen patch of skin), infected dermatitis (inflammation of the skin and spots), infected cuts and grazes and irritation and bacterial conjunctivitis (redness in the membrane covering the eye).

How it works

Fusidic acid belongs to the class of medications called as bacteriostatic antibiotics. It inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, thereby killing the bacteria.

  • Do not use in conditions such as acne, fungal skin infections, e.g. athlete's foot, ringworm, candida skin infections, severe flushing of skin on and around your nose (rosacea), spotty red rash around your mouth (perioral dermatitis), infected skin (unless the infection is being treated with an anti-infective medicine at the same time),itchy skin around the genitals or back passage, itchy skin which is not inflamed, nappy rash, widespread plaque psoriasis (raised, red patches covered with a silvery white buildup of dead skin cells or scale).
  • Caution is to be observed while applying the cream on large areas of the body for a long time like few weeks or months.
  • If your skin problem does not improve in 2 to 4 weeks, talk to your doctor.
  • It should not take if patient is allergic to clobetasol propionate or any of its ingredients.
  • It sholud not given to children below 1 year of age.

Fusidic cream is used to clear skin infection quickly, particularly where the infection only covers a small area. It can be used for treating acne and spots caused by bacterial infections. No, it is available only with your doctor's prescription.
Q. Is fusidic acid and sodium fusidate same?
Sodium fusidate is a salt of fusidic acid and it works in the same way as fusidic acid.
Q. Is fucidin a steroid/ used for impetigo/ good for cold sores/ good for spots/ good for boils/good for treating herpes?
Fucidin is not a steroid. As per doctor’s recommendation it can be used for treating impetigo, boils, spots and cold sores, redness as a result of bacterial infection. It is not used for viral diseases that affect the skin such as herpes simplex, varicella (chickenpox) and vaccinia. 
Q. How long does fusidic acid take to work?
You should see results after a few days of fusidic acid treatment; however it depends upon the condition for which it is being treated (for e.g. a course of treatment for impetigo typically lasts for around 7-10 days) and also other factors (age, body weight, other medical conditions etc.
