Polprotec Vaccine gives protection against poliovirus. It works by helping the immune system to produce antibodies to fight against the virus. It is advisable to consult your doctor for complete information regarding vaccination schedules.

How Polprotec Injection works

Polprotec Vaccine contains inactivated (killed) viruses of all three poliovirus types (I, II & III). It works by causing your body to produce its own protection (antibodies). In the event of infection, these antibodies prevent the spread of the virus to the brain and protect against paralysis.

  • Polprotec Vaccine is prescribed for the prevention of polio disease.
  • Inform your doctor if you ever had a life-threatening allergic reaction after a dose of polio vaccination.
  • If you are severely ill, you should probably wait until you recover. Your doctor can advise you on this.
  • You can apply an ice pack on the injection site if you experience pain and redness.
