How Oslax Plus Emulsion works

Oslax Plus Emulsion is a combination of three medicines: sodium picosulfate, liquid paraffin, and milk of magnesia. Sodium picosulfate is a stimulant laxative that increases peristalsis (the wave-like movement of the intestines) and helps push stools forward. Liquid paraffin is a lubricant laxative that helps retain water and fat in the stools, making them softer. Milk of magnesia is an osmotic laxative that draws water into the intestine through osmosis, which softens the stools. Together, these medicines make stools easier to pass.

Quick tips

An overdose of Oslax Plus Emulsion may also lead to dehydration. Drink plenty of water during the day to help soften stools and reduce the risk of dehydration.
Eat a fiber-rich diet (about 20–35 g/day), stay physically active, and follow a regular toilet routine to help prevent constipation.
Do not hold stools when you feel the urge, as delaying bowel movements can worsen constipation and make stools harder.
Plan to stay near a toilet after taking Oslax Plus Emulsion, as laxatives may stimulate bowel movements. Avoid long-distance travel since the medicine can cause stimulated bowel movements.
Avoid using Oslax Plus Emulsion for prolonged periods without medical advice, as it is usually intended for short-term relief of constipation.
