How Optihist Cromz Eye Drop works
Sodium cromoglycate works by stabilising mast cells in the eye and preventing the release of substances that trigger allergic reactions, such as histamine. This helps reduce redness, itching, and watering of the eyes caused by allergies. Zinc sulphate monohydrate supports ocular tissue health through its mild astringent action, which helps soothe irritated eye tissues and reduce excessive discharge. Together, these components help control allergic responses in the eye while soothing irritation, providing relief from symptoms of allergic eye disease and supporting overall eye comfort.
Quick tips
- Optihist Cromz Eye Drop is prescribed for the treatment of allergic eye disease.
- It should usually be used twice a day (in the morning and the evening). If your symptoms are particularly severe, your doctor may suggest you use them up to four times a day.
- To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface.
- Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute, immediately after instilling the medication. This will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink or rub your eye.
- Avoid wearing contact lens until your symptoms are completely gone.
