Product introduction

Nuromust PG Tablet can be taken with or without food. It should be used in the dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. It is advised to take this medicine at a fixed time. Do not take more than the recommended dose.

Nuromust PG Tablet is usually safe with very minimal side effects. However, if you experience severe diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, or any signs of an allergic reaction, please consult your doctor. Also, before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about all other health conditions that you have.

Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medicines or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is not advised to drive after taking this medicine as it may cause sleepiness or dizziness and may affect your ability to concentrate and react.

Treatment of Neuropathic pain
Nuromust PG Tablet is a combination of medicines used to treat long-lasting (chronic) pain caused by nerve damage due to diabetes, shingles, or spinal cord injury. It reduces pain and its associated symptoms such as mood changes, sleep problems, and tiredness. Pregabalin, an active ingredient of this medicine, is thought to work by interfering with pain signals that travel through the damaged nerves and the brain. It also contains nutritional supplements that improve nerve conduction.

Taking this medicine regularly will improve your physical and social functioning and overall quality of life. It takes a few weeks to work so you need to take it regularly even if you feel it is not doing any good. Once your symptoms have gone you should still keep taking the medicine until your doctor advises you to stop.

How Nuromust PG Tablet works

Nuromust PG Tablet is a combination of five medicines: Benfotiamine, Folic Acid, Methylcobalamin, Pregabalin and Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine). Benfotiamine and Folic Acid provide essential nutrients to the nerves. Methylcobalamin and Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) are forms of vitamin B which help in the production of myelin, a substance that protects nerve fibers and rejuvenates damaged nerve cells. Pregabalin is an alpha 2 delta ligand which decreases pain by modulating calcium channel activity of the nerve cells. Together, they relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves).

No, you should not stop taking Nuromust PG Tablet even if your pain is relieved. Continue to take it as advised by your doctor. If you stop taking Nuromust PG Tablet suddenly, you may experience withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, sleeping difficulties, nausea, pain, and sweating. You may need to gradually taper the use of Nuromust PG Tablet before you stop the medication completely.
Nuromust PG Tablet can make you feel hungry, making you eat more, thereby increasing your chances of putting on weight. However, preventing weight gain is easier than losing increased weight. Try to eat a healthy balanced diet without increasing your portion sizes (per-meal intake). Do not eat food items that contain a lot of calories, such as soft drinks, oily food, chips, cakes, biscuits, and sweets. If you feel hungry between meals, eat fruits, vegetables, and low-calorie foods. Regular exercise will also help prevent weight gain. If you maintain good eating habits and exercise regularly, you might not gain any weight.
Yes, Nuromust PG Tablet may make you feel drowsy or you may suddenly fall asleep during your daily activities. Sometimes, you might not even feel drowsy or have any other warning signs before you suddenly fall asleep. Avoid driving a car, operating machinery, working at heights, or participating in potentially dangerous activities until you know how the medicine affects you. Inform your doctor if you experience such episodes while taking this medicine.
Serious side effects with Nuromust PG Tablet are uncommon and rare. However, it may cause serious side effects like an allergic reaction, suicidal thoughts, or swelling of limbs (hands, legs, or feet). Stop taking Nuromust PG Tablet and contact your doctor if you have any signs of these serious side effects. Signs of an allergic reaction include swelling of your face, mouth, lips, gums, tongue, and neck, trouble in breathing, skin rash, hives (raised bumps), or blisters. Pay attention to sudden changes in mood, behaviors, thoughts, or feelings a these may be a symptom of suicidal thoughts.
An initial benefit with Nuromust PG Tablet may be seen after 2 weeks of treatment. However, it may take around 2-3 months to see the full benefit. It may take even longer for some patients.
If you forget to take the scheduled dose of Nuromust PG Tablet and it is almost time for your next dose, skip the dose you missed and take your next dose at the scheduled time. Otherwise, take it as soon as you remember, and then go back to taking your medicine as you would normally. Do not take a double dose to make up for the dose you missed because this may increase the risk of unwanted side effects. If you are not sure what to do, consult your doctor about how to manage a situation like this.
In a situation like this, contact your doctor immediately or seek emergency help at the nearest hospital. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort or poisoning. You may need urgent medical attention. Symptoms of an overdose may include drowsiness, weakness, unsteady when walking, having double visions, slurred speech or diarrhea, confusion, blurred vision, dizziness, body temperature changes (low and high), difficulty in breathing, and increased heartbeat.
No, taking a higher than the recommended dose may not be more effective, rather it may increase the chances of having some serious side effects and toxicity. If you experience increased severity of your symptoms, that is not relieved by the recommended doses, please consult your doctor for re-evaluation.
