Normaxin RT Capsule is taken without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

The most common side effects are nausea, constipation, stomach pain, diarrhea, flatulence, dryness in the mouth, blurred vision, coordination impairment, confusion, headache, flu-like symptoms, weakness, and difficulty in urination. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. It may also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your sleepiness.

Lifestyle modifications like having a fiber-rich diet, avoiding foods that trigger your symptoms, increasing fluid intake, and regular exercise can help you to get better results. Normaxin RT Capsule relaxes the muscles in your stomach and gut (intestine) and relieves these symptoms effectively. It also relieves excessive acidity in your stomach which prevents heartburn and indigestion. Usually, it is used along with other medicines for management of your condition.

What is Normaxin RT Capsule?

Normaxin RT Capsule is a combination of four medicines: Chlordiazepoxide, Clidinium, Dicyclomine and Rabeprazole which treat irritable bowel syndrome. Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger (GABA) which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Clidinium and Dicyclomine are antispasmodic medicines which relax the muscles in your stomach and gut (intestine). They stop sudden muscle contractions (spasms) which in turn relieves cramps, pain, bloating and discomfort. Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It relieves acid-related indigestion and heartburn by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach.

Can the use of Normaxin RT Capsule cause dryness in mouth?

Yes, the use of Normaxin RT Capsule can cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water. Take regular sips during the day and keep some water by your bed at night. You may use lip balm if your lips are also dry.

Yes, the use of Normaxin RT Capsule can cause dizziness as it can cause a sudden fall in the blood pressure. This happens mostly when there is a change in the posture like when you rise up from a sitting or lying position. This sudden fall in the blood pressure can cause dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, sensation of spinning and vertigo. In this condition it is better to rest for some time and resume once you feel better.
