Uses

Potassium Nitrate is used in the treatment of nutritional defeciencies.

How it works

The potassium ions in potassium nitrate desensitizing products are work by blocking the synapse between nerve cells, reducing nerve excitation, and the associated pain.

Common side effects

Collapse, Convulsion, Cyanosis (bluish discoloration of the skin), Flushing, Gastrointestinal discomfort, Headache, Altered heart rate, Decreased blood pressure, Methemoglobinaemia (presence of methaemoglobin in the blood), Vertigo
Sodium Monofluorophosphate(0.625% w/w)

Uses

Sodium Monofluorophosphate is used in the treatment of hypersensitivity, inflammation of gums and dental cavities.

How it works

Sodium monofluorophosphate belongs to the class of medications called as mineral supplements. It is hydrolysed in fluoride and phosphate ions. Fluoride ions reduce the ability of bacteria to make acids, and they re-mineralize the areas of the tooth that have been attacked by acids from bacteria.
