Nirtin LB Tablet is a prescription medicine. It is advised to take it as per the prescription. It can be taken with or without food, but it must be taken at a fixed time to ensure better efficacy. Do not consume more than the recommended dose, as this may have harmful effects on your body. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. The course of the treatment must be completed even if you feel better. Sudden discontinuation of the treatment may affect the potency of the medicine.

Some common side effects of this medicine are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence, etc. If any of the side effects get aggravated, you must consult your doctor immediately. If you experience any allergic reaction (rashes, itching, swelling, shortness of breath, etc.), you must seek immediate medical help.

Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are taking any medicines for any health condition. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult with their doctor before taking it. Avoid drinking alcohol as it can cause excessive drowsiness with this medicine. It usually does not impair your ability to drive, but you should not drive if it makes you feel sleepy or dizzy. How Nirtin LB Tablet works

Nirtin LB Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Clotrimazole, Lactobacillus and Tinidazole. Clotrimazole is an antifungal which stop the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering. Lactobacillus is a live microorganism which maintains the vagina in a healthy condition by producing anti-infectious substances. Tinidazole is an antibiotic. It kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging their DNA.

Quick tips

Nirtin LB Tablet is inserted into the vagina using an applicator, usually at night before going to bed.
Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
It can damage condoms and diaphragms and make them ineffective at preventing pregnancy. Ask your doctor about other suitable methods of preventing pregnancy.
Avoid contact with your eyes. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
It may cause minor burning, stinging, or irritation when applied. Inform your doctor if this does not go away.
Inform your doctor if your symptoms do not get improved within 3 days of taking the medicine.

Consumption of alcohol with Nirtin LB Tablet may cause a disulfiram-like reaction, leading to symptoms such as flushing, increased heart rate, low blood pressure, nausea, lightheadedness, and severe headache.

Pregnancy

The safety of Nirtin LB Tablet during pregnancy has not been established. There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, and animal data on reproductive toxicity are insufficient. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing.

Breast feeding

CAUTION

Nirtin LB Tablet should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from the body.
If a single dose of Nirtin LB Tablet is used, it is recommended to hold breastfeeding for 12-24 hours to allow the removal of the drug.

Driving

It is not known whether Nirtin LB Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react. Please consult your doctor.
Nirtin LB Tablet may make you feel drowsy or gives you problems with coordination or sensation (e.g. numbness or weakness). This may affect your driving ability.

Kidney

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Nirtin LB Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment is recommended.

Liver

CAUTION

Nirtin LB Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.
