Betamethasone Topical(0.025% w/w)


Betamethasone topical is used to treat skin problems like eczema (a type of itchy skin rash), atopic dermatitis (inflammation of skin) and psoriasis of the scalp, hands and feet.

How it works

Betamethasone belongs to a class of medications called as corticosteroids. It works by decreasing the formation, release, and activity of different cells and chemicals that cause swelling, redness, and itching, thereby relieving the symptoms associated with skin conditions.

Clotrimazole Topical(1% w/w)

Expert advice for NEO CEODERM

Tell your doctor if you have diabetes or any type of skin infection. 
Do not use the cream on your face repetitively for more than 5 days.
Do not use betamethasone topical for more than 2 weeks and inform your doctor if symptoms do not disappear after 2 weeks of use.
Do not use a large amount of cream continuously on large areas of the body as it may affect your hormones.
Exercise caution when using in children as excessive usage of cream may affect their growth and development. 
Avoid direct contact of cream with your eyes. In case of direct contact, wash your eyes with water immediately and seek immediate medical attention.
Do not cover the treated skin area unless indicated by your doctor.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.

Betamethasone Topical

Q. Is betamethasone cream available as over the counter (OTC) product?
Betamethasone cream is not available as OTC product.

Q. Does betamethasone topical lighten skin/ bleach skin?
Betamethasone topical may cause skin pigmentation in few patients. It may lighten or darken the skin color. Do not use betamethasone without doctor’s advice.
Q. Is betamethasone valerate used for acne/ ringworm?
No. Betamethasone valerate can be used in conditions like eczema (a type of itchy skin rash), atopic dermatitis (inflammation of skin) and psoriasis of the scalp, hands and feet.
Q. Does betnesol work in retention edema?
No. Betnesol (i.e. betamethasone) cannot be used in retention edema. On the contrary, it causes the fluid and salt retention thereby adding to the edema problem.
Q. Is betamethasone stronger than hydrocortisone?
Betamethasone and hydrocortisone belong to the same class of medications (i.e. corticosteroids) and produce almost similar pharmacological responses. The effect may vary based on the conditions and individual response. Always follow doctor’s advice regarding its use.
