Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.

How Mydran Injection works

Mydran Injection is a combination of three ingredients. Tropicamide dilates the pupil (mydriasis) and paralyzes the muscle (cycloplegia) of the eye during certain medical procedures. Phenylephrine helps doctors see better inside the eye and to reduce redness. It makes your pupils (the black part in the center of your eyes) bigger. It does this by making the muscles in your eye contract. It can also shrink the blood vessels in your eyes, which helps reduce redness. Lidocaine works by blocking the nerve signals that send pain sensations to the brain. This means you won’t feel pain in your eye while the Mydran Injection is effective.

Quick tips

  • Do not touch or rub your eyes after the injection to prevent irritation or infection.
  • Protect your eyes from bright light and reduce discomfort by wearing sunglasses after the procedure.
  • Give your eyes time to adjust after the procedure. Avoid activities that strain your eyes, such as reading or using screens.
  • Drink plenty of water to help flush out the medication from your system and reduce any potential discomfort.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience severe pain, persistent vision changes, or signs of an allergic reaction.
