Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Mycopas Tablet is to be taken empty stomach. Avoid Mycopas Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.
Mycopas Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Sodium aminosalicylate and isoniazid which treat tuberculosis. Sodium aminosalicylate stops bacteria causing TB from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for their multiplication. Isoniazid prevents the TB bacteria from forming their own protective covering. This kills the bacteria and eradicates the infection.
Mycopas Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure with alcohol (Disulfiram reactions).

Mycopas Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Mycopas Tablet can cause fits, mental health problems and optic neuritis (inflammation of the optic nerve that may cause loss of vision.) This may affect your driving ability.
There is limited information available on the use of Mycopas Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Mycopas Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Mycopas Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Mycopas Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
