How to use Metrogyl P Ointment
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and gently massage the ointment. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.
How Metrogyl P Ointment works
Metrogyl P Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Metronidazole Topical and Povidone Iodine. Metronidazole Topical is an antibiotic which kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging the DNA. Povidone Iodine is an antiseptic applied on skin which is infected or is likely to get infected. It slowly releases iodine which kills or prevents the growth of infectious microorganisms.
