Metronidazole Topical(1% w/w)


Metronidazole topical is used to treat rosacea (enlarged facial blood vessels that cause papules, pustules, and swelling). It is also used to treat bacterial infections of the vagina.

How it works

Metronidazole belongs to a class of medications called as antibiotics. It works by inhibiting energy production and killing the bacteria and parasites that cause infections in the body.

  • Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight and wear protective clothing, sunglasses or apply sunscreen before stepping out in the sun as this drug may increase the sensitivity to sunlight.
  • Avoid direct contact of cream with your eyes. In case of direct contact, wash your eyes with water immediately and seek immediate medical attention.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
