Product introduction

Melodol Tablet can be taken with or without food. The dose will depend on what you are taking it for and how well it helps your symptoms. You should take it as advised by your doctor. Do not take more or use it for a longer duration than recommended by the doctor.

The most common side effects of this medicine include nausea, vomiting, indigestion, stomach pain, and diarrhea. If any of these side effects bother you or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing the side effects.

Before taking it, you should let your doctor know if you have a history of ulcer or bleeding in your stomach, high blood pressure, or have any trouble with your heart, kidneys, or liver. Let your doctor also know about all the other medicines you are taking because they may affect, or be affected by, this medicine.

Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before starting treatment. You should also avoid drinking alcohol while you are taking this medicine, as alcohol can cause excessive drowsiness.

Pain relief
Melodol Tablet relieves pain, reduce swelling and ease inflammation in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. It reduces stiffness of joints and helps in easy movement. It also helps to manage short term symptoms such as muscle and back pain, toothache, or pain in the ear and throat. Melodol Tablet works by reducing substances in the body that cause pain and swelling. It may take up to two weeks before you get the full benefit of this medicine.

Side effects of Melodol Tablet

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

How to use Melodol Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Melodol Tablet may be taken with or without food.

How Melodol Tablet works

Melodol Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Meloxicam and Paracetamol which relieve pain. It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).

Quick tips

  • You have been prescribed Melodol Tablet to relieve pain and inflammation.
  • It works more quickly if you take them when your stomach is empty, so ideally they should be taken about 30 minutes before food. However, if taking the tablets makes you feel sick, it is better to take your doses after food as this will help reduce any feelings of sickness.
  • Do not take indigestion remedies (antacids) within two hours of taking Melodol Tablet.
  • Drink plenty of water while taking it.
  • Inform your doctor if you have or ever had ulcers in your stomach or intestines.
  • Inform your doctor if you are planning to have an operation (even a minor one, such as tooth extraction) since Melodol Tablet might increase the risk of bleeding.
