Lofen MR Tablet may be prescribed alone or in combination with another medicine. You should take it regularly as advised by your doctor. It should be taken with food. This will prevent you from getting an upset stomach. Do not take more or use it for longer than recommended by your doctor.

Using this medicine may cause few common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, and diarrhea. If any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may help you with ways to reduce or prevent them.

How Lofen MR Tablet works

Lofen MR Tablet is a combination of four medicines: Diclofenac, Paracetamol, Chlorzoxazone and Magnesium Trisilicate which relieve pain and relax the muscles. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal antiinflammatory drug (NSAID) and Paracetamol is an antipyretic (fever reducer). They work by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and fever. Chlorzoxazone is a muscle relaxant. It works on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and to improve pain and movement of muscles. Magnesium Trisilicate is an inorganic salt that neutralizes the excess acid in the stomach.

Breast feeding

Lofen MR Tablet may be unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby. It should be used only if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk. Please consult your doctor.

Driving

However, the use of Lofen MR Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

What if you forget to take Lofen MR Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Lofen MR Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
