How it works

Cyproheptadine belongs to the group of medicines called antihistamines and antiserotonergic. It works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms.

How it works

Tricholine citrate exerts lipotropic action in the hepatic cells. Choline converts deposited fats into lecithin and other similar phospholipids. Lecithin is a major component of high density lipoprotein (HDL) that mobilizes cell membrane cholesterol and promotes hepatic degeneration.

  • If you are taking other medicines such as antihistamines or monoamine-oxidase inhibitors.
Do not drive or operate machinery after taking cyproheptadine because your mental alertness may get disturbed. Avoid drinking alcohol as it can increase certain side effects of cyproheptadine. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you are pregnant.
