Kufnil-A Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.
The most common side effect is stomach upset. This is temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any side effects. This medicine can also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your sleepiness.
Never support self-medication or recommend your medicine to another person. Keep it out of reach of children. It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking this medication. Before taking it, you should tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine.

This reduces the frequency of coughing and makes you feel better. Menthol present in Kufnil-A Syrup soothes your throat and gives relief from irritation. This medicine usually starts to work within a few minutes and the effects can last up to several hours. Take it in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by the doctor. Steam inhalation with few drops of eucalyptus oil can loosen mucus and reduce congestion and coughing.

- Drink warm water to help loosen the congestion and lubricate your throat while you are taking this medication.
- Take exactly as directed by your doctor or on the label. Do not increase the dosage or take for longer than is recommended. Use a proper measuring cup or spoon to measure the dosage.
- If you are drowsy after taking Kufnil-A Syrup, you should not drive or operate any machinery.
- In general, most coughs do not last more than 2 weeks. If your cough does last longer than this then it's better to see your doctor.
- Inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers or asthma.
- Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications for e.g. anti-depressants.
- Kufnil-A Syrup should not be given to kids.
