How Koycal Syrup works
Koycal Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, Diphenhydramine and Phenylpropanolamine. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Diphenhydramine is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Phenylpropanolamine is a decongestant. It narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.
Quick tips
- Koycal Syrup is prescribed to get relief from cough and symptoms of common cold.
- Drink warm water to help loosen the congestion and lubricate your throat while you are taking this medication.
- Take exactly as directed by your doctor or on the label. Do not increase the dosage or take for longer than is recommended.
- Call your doctor if your symptoms have not improved within seven days of treatment.
- Inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers or asthma.
- Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications, e.g., anti-depressants.
