Ketsol Plus Eye Drop is a combination of three medicines: Chlorpheniramine, Ketorolac and Phenylephrine which relieve eye discomfort caused by allergies. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which blocks the action of certain chemical messengers responsible for red, itchy, teary eyes. Ketorolac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling) in the eye. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the blood vessels of the eye to further relieve inflammation.
Ketsol Plus Eye Drop may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Ketsol Plus Eye Drop is probably safe to use during lactation.
