Uses of Gluend Eye Drop

Benefits of Gluend Eye Drop

Treatment of Glaucoma
Glaucoma is an eye disease that damages the optic nerve which is essential for proper vision. This damage is often caused by an abnormally high pressure in the eye. Gluend Eye Drop is used to reduce swelling and pressure inside the eye. This helps prevent complications of glaucoma such as blindness and improves the vision. This medicine may be used alone or with other eye drops. Glaucoma cannot be prevented. Frequent monitoring, regular checkups can help detect the disease in its early stages.
Treatment of Ocular hypertension
Ocular hypertension is a condition where the pressure inside the eye is higher than normal eye pressure due to fluid build-up. Gluend Eye Drop increases the flow of fluid from inside the eye into the bloodstream thereby lowering the increased eye pressure. This prevents further damage or complications such as change in vision or even loss of vision. You should only use Gluend Eye Drop in the affected eye and take it regularly as prescribed by your doctor.

How to use Gluend Eye Drop

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off the extra liquid.

How Gluend Eye Drop works

Gluend Eye Drop is a combination of two medicines: Timolol and Travoprost. Timolol is a beta blocker while Travoprost is a prostaglandin analogue. They work by decreasing the production of aqueous humor (fluid in the eye), thereby lowering the increased eye pressure.

Quick tips

  • To avoid contamination, do not touch the tip of the medicine or let it touch your eye or any other surface.
  • After applying Gluend Eye Drop, close your eyes, and place one finger at the corner of your eye. Apply gentle pressure for 1 to 2 minutes before opening your eyes. This will prevent the medication from draining out.
  • Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
