Gero Eye/Ear Drops is to be used as per the label instructions or as suggested by your doctor. This medicine must be applied only to the affected eye or ear. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Wash your hands before using this medicine. Check the label thoroughly for directions before use. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.

Use of this medicine may cause burning sensation, stinging, and irritation at the application site. These are usually temporary and resolve with time. However, if they persist or get worse, inform your doctor. In case of accidental contact with your nose or mouth, immediately rinse it with water.

Inform your doctor if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients in this medicine or if you are taking any other medication. It is advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery immediately after using this medicine as it may cause temporary blurring of vision and may affect your ability to drive.

Gero Eye/Ear Drops is used to treat infections in the eye or ear caused by bacteria. It stops the growth of bacteria causing infection and helps relieve itching or irritation in the eyes or ear. It also adds moisture to the eyes or ears and reduces dryness and burning sensation. Make sure you complete the full course of treatment. This will ensure that the infection is completely cured and prevent it from returning.

How to use Gero Eye/Ear Drops

Hold the dropper close to the eye/ear without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid or ear. Wipe off extra liquid.

How Gero Eye/Ear Drops works

Gero Eye/Ear Drops is a combination of two medicines: Gentamicin and Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose. Gentamicin is an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose is a lubricant similar to natural tears. It provides temporary relief from burning and discomfort due to dryness in the eye.

Quick tips

  • Your doctor has prescribed Gero Eye/Ear Drops to cure your infection and improve symptoms.
  • Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
  • Do not touch the tip to any surface, or to your eye/ear, to avoid contamination.
  • Talk to your doctor if your symptoms haven't started to improve within two days of starting treatment, if they get worse during treatment or if you get another eye /ear infection.
  • If using Gero Eye/Ear Drops for the eye:
    • Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
    • Do not wear contact lenses while using this medication.
    • It may cause short term blurring of vision when first used. Use caution before driving or using machines.
