Product introduction

Gencil DM Eye Drop is to be used only in the affected eye or ear. Read the label carefully for instruction before you use the medicine. Use it in the exact dose and duration as advised by the doctor or as instructed in the label. Wash your hands before using this medicine. Complete your dose even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may bring back the infection.

Use of this medicine may cause burning, irritation, itching, and redness at the site of application. These are usually temporary and resolve with time. However, if they persist or get worse, inform your doctor. In case of accidental contact with your ears, nose, or mouth, immediately rinse it with water.

Inform your doctor if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients in this medicine or if you are taking any other medication. It is advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery immediately after using this medicine as it may cause temporary blurring of vision and may affect your ability to drive.

Gencil DM Eye Drop is used to treat bacterial infection of the eyes such as conjunctivitis or pink eye. It stops the growth of bacteria causing infection and helps relieve pain, swelling, redness, itching or irritation in the eyes. Use it 2-3 times a day for atleast a week or as prescribed by the doctor. Your symptoms might improve after using Gencil DM Eye Drop. However, make sure to complete the full course of treatment. This will ensure that the infection is completely cured and prevent it from returning.

How Gencil DM Eye Drop works

Gencil DM Eye Drop is a combination of two medicines: Gentamicin and Dexamethasone. Gentamicin is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth in the eye by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Dexamethasone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye red, swollen and itchy.

Gencil DM Eye Drop is used to treat bacterial eye infections such as conjunctivitis. Gencil DM Eye Drop contains a steroid that reduces inflammation, redness, and swelling, and an antibiotic that kills the bacteria causing the infection.
Using Gencil DM Eye Drop for longer than recommended by your doctor may suppress adrenal gland function and increase the risk of cataracts (clouding of the eye lens). It may also raise the risk of developing a secondary infection (initial eye condition leading to a new eye infection, often worsening the original problem).
The treatment with Gencil DM Eye Drop should not exceed 2 weeks, and at most 3 weeks in severe conditions. The exact duration of Gencil DM Eye Drop therapy with combination eye products should be determined by the physician, taking into account factors such as effectiveness, severity of symptoms, and potential side effects.
Gencil DM Eye Drop may cause temporary stinging or burning of the eye for a minute or two after application. If this persists or becomes bothersome, inform your doctor. However, contact your doctor immediately if you experience a skin rash, burning, irritation, swelling, itching, redness, or pain in or around the eyes or vision changes.
You should avoid touching the Gencil DM Eye Drop tip to your eye or any surface to prevent contamination. Do not use Gencil DM Eye Drop if the medicine changes color or becomes cloudy. Also, after using Gencil DM Eye Drop, it may cause temporary blurring of vision, and you should avoid driving until your vision clears.
You can keep the unopened (sealed) bottle of Gencil DM Eye Drop until its expiry date. However, once opened, use it within 28 days (4 weeks) even if it has not expired. Discard any remaining medicine after this period. Also, make sure to store Gencil DM Eye Drop at room temperature, keeping it away from light.
