Product introduction

Fusidott H Cream is meant for external use only. It should be applied only to the affected area of the skin as per the dosage and schedule prescribed by your doctor. In order to get the most benefit, apply it regularly and preferably at the same time each day. Do not use larger amounts or apply it more often or for a longer duration than directed. This will only increase the risk of side effects.  Avoid any contact with your eyes, nose or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the medicine in these areas.

This medicine is usually safe, however, it may cause burning, irritation, itching, and redness at the application site. These side effects are usually mild and self-limiting. Serious side effects are rare.

It is not likely that other medicines you take by mouth or injection will affect the way this medicine works, but talk to your doctor before using it if you have recently used another medicine that contains a steroid or had an allergic reaction to another antifungal medicine. The medicine is not recommended for pregnant women. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctors before using this medicine.

How to use Fusidott H Cream

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

How Fusidott H Cream works

Fusidott H Cream is a combination of three medicines: Hydrocortisone and Fusidic Acid which treat skin infections. Hydrocortisone is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Fusidic Acid is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

Quick tips

  • Fusidott H Cream must be applied as a thin layer on the affected area as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Do not use this medicine more often or for longer than advised by your doctor.
  • Before each application, wash the affected area with soap and water and dry well.
  • Avoid getting it in the eyes, mouth or nose. Rinse with cold water if you accidentally get it in these areas.
  • Do not cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
  • Inform your doctor if the treated skin area does not improve after 2-4 weeks of treatment.

Frequently asked questions

Fusidott H Cream is used to treat skin conditions where there is both inflammation and bacterial infection, such as infected eczema, dermatitis with pus, and sores that are red and swollen.
Fusidott H Cream should be used in cuts or wounds only if prescribed, because it is designed for infected skin problems, not open injuries without infection.
Facial skin is thin and absorbs medicines more quickly, so use Fusidott H Cream on the face only if a doctor has advised it.
Yes, Fusidott H Cream can relieve itching and redness quickly by calming inflammation, fighting the bacteria causing the infection.
Fusidott H Cream may be prescribed for children, but dosage and duration are important. Always follow your pediatrician’s advice.
No, Fusidott H Cream works against bacteria, not fungi. Using it on fungal problems could make them worse.
Fusidott H Cream is not meant for acne. Steroid medicines like Fusidott H Cream can cause acne to get worse.
You should avoid applying makeup or other creams directly over the Fusidott H Cream-treated area unless your doctor says it is safe.
Fusidott H Cream can clear the infection when used properly for the full prescribed time. Stopping early may cause the infection to return.
Fusidott H Cream may help reduce swelling, tenderness, and heat in the affected area. If the skin swelling is severe, ask your doctor for tailored treatment.
You should avoid using Fusidott H Cream close to the eyes unless directly instructed, as steroid-containing medicines can cause eye problems if they get inside.
You should stop using Fusidott H Cream and see your doctor immediately if your skin worsens after using Fusidott H Cream. It may be an allergic reaction, or the infection might need a different medicine.
