Product introduction

It is best to take FIBMET 160MG/500MG TABLET along with food. For better results, it is suggested to take it at the same time every day. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. Lifestyle changes like low-fat diet, exercise and not smoking may help this medicine to work better.

Nausea, taste change, diarrhea, and stomach pain are some common side effects of this medicine. These are usually mild but let your doctor know if they bother you or last more than a few days.

FIBMET 160MG/500MG TABLET helps control diabetes along with high cholesterol. It contains anti-diabetic medicines that help to control high blood glucose (sugar) levels. It helps get rid of extra glucose from your body through urine. Additionally, it also contains Atorvastatin, a medicine that works by reducing the amount of “bad” cholesterol (LDL) and raising the amount of “good” cholesterol (HDL) in your blood. High levels of cholesterol can cause your blood vessels to narrow (atherosclerosis). Lowering the amount of cholesterol reduces the chances of heart diseases and helps you remain healthier for longer.
Managing blood glucose levels is an essential part of managing diabetes. If you can control the level you will reduce the risk of getting any of the serious complications of diabetes such as kidney damage, eye damage, nerve problems, and loss of limbs.   • FIBMET 160MG/500MG TABLET is prescribed for the treatment of diabetes in patients with high cholesterol levels.
  • Take FIBMET 160MG/500MG TABLET just after a meal or with a snack to avoid stomach problems.
  • Inform your doctor immediately if you experience any deep or rapid breathing, persistent nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain. This is because FIBMET 160MG/500MG TABLET may cause a rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis, which is an excess of lactic acid in the blood.
  • Your doctor will monitor your blood sugar levels regularly while you are taking this medication.
  • Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) may occur when taken along with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol, or by delaying/skipping a meal. Check your blood sugar levels and have a snack/sugar source for immediate relief.
  • If you get unusually thirsty, pass urine more frequently, and feel tired, you should let your doctor know. These are signs that there is too much sugar in your blood and your dose may need adjusting.

Use of FIBMET 160MG/500MG TABLET is, however, not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. Regular monitoring of kidney function test is advisable while you are taking this medicine.
