Ferinut XT Tablet may be taken with or without food. However, if it upsets the stomach, take it with food. Follow all the directions on the product package, or take it in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor to get the most benefit from it. Take this medicine at the same time each day to reduce the chances of missing a dose.

A few common side effects caused by this medication are constipation, diarrhea, nausea, and upset stomach. Though they are usually mild and go away as your body gets used to the medicine, let your doctor know if they persist or worsen.

Do not take Ferinut XT Tablet if you have a known history of hypersensitivity to any of the components of this product. This medicine is also contraindicated in patients who have hemochromatosis and hemosiderosis. In case of accidental overdose, contact your doctor immediately as it can be fatal.

Anemia is a condition where you do not have enough red blood cells to carry oxygen around your body. If you do not get enough elemental iron and folic acid from the food that you eat (because of poor nutrition or poor absorption of the mineral), your body will produce fewer red blood cells and that can lead to anemia.

Ferinut XT Tablet is a supplement of elemental iron and folic acid. Elemental iron replenishes the body with iron, and folic acid is used to treat or prevent low levels of folate in the body. Folate plays an essential role in the production of red blood cells. It boosts your RBC levels and reduces the symptoms of anemia, such as tiredness and weakness.

How to use Ferinut Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ferinut XT Tablet may be taken with or without food.

How Ferinut Tablet works

Ferinut XT Tablet contains two hematinic substances. Elemental iron replenishes the iron stores in your body, and folic acid, a form of vitamin B, helps maintain levels of folate. Both iron and folic acid are vital for the formation of new red blood cells and hemoglobin, a substance that gives RBCs the ability to transport oxygen.

Quick tips

Iron supplements can make your stool look darker in color. This is completely harmless.
Let your doctor know if you are taking any antibiotics.
Inform your doctor if you have any gastrointestinal disorders, like peptic ulcer or ulcerative colitis.
Ferinut XT Tablet can cause constipation, try to eat a well-balanced diet and drink several glasses of water every day. Never use a stool softener (laxative) without consulting your doctor.
