Etidac-P 0.5mg/20mg Tablet is used in the treatment of anxiety disorder.

How to use Etidac-P Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Etidac-P 0.5mg/20mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
How Etidac-P Tablet works
Etidac-P 0.5mg/20mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Etizolam and Propranolol. Etizolam is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in brain. Propranolol is a beta blocker which blocks the action of certain chemical messengers on the heart and blood vessels. This reduces heart rate, blood pressure, and strain on the heart.
Etidac-P Tablet related warnings
Taking Propranolol with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.
Etidac-P 0.5mg/20mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
No information is available on the use of Etidac-P 0.5mg/20mg Tablet during lactation. Please consult your doctor.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Etidac-P 0.5mg/20mg Tablet may cause visual disturbances, hallucinations, fatigue, mental confusion, dizziness or tiredness. This may affect your driving ability.
There is limited information available on the use of Etidac-P 0.5mg/20mg Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Etidac-P 0.5mg/20mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Etidac-P 0.5mg/20mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Regular monitoring of blood pressure is advisable for dose adjustment.

Maintenance phase after first episode of anxiety disorder lasts for 6 months,medicines are then gradually tapered off. Other substitutes are available but if you are better with it, it's better to continue because other antidepressant may or may not work adequately.

No, you should continue to take Etidac-P even if you feel well. If you stop Etidac-P suddenly, serious withdrawal problems may occur. Your doctor will decrease your dose gradually before asking you to stop Etidac-P.

Yes, Etidac-P can make you feel sleepy. At the beginning of your treatment: do not drive, operate machinery, work at heights, or participate in potentially dangerous activities till you know how this medicine affects you.

Keep this medicine in the packet or container it came in, tightly closed. Store it as mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose of the unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children, and other people.
