Introduction

Erypeg 75mcg Injection is a medicine used in the treatment of anemia due to chronic kidney disease and cancer chemotherapy. It works by stimulating the stem cells of the bone marrow to increase red blood cell production. At the same time, it acts on red blood cells to protect them against destruction.

Erypeg 75mcg Injection is generally given by a doctor or a nurse. Do not self-administer this medicine at home. The dose depends on your body weight and the cause of your anemia. Get the injection regularly until you complete the dose. Iron supplements both before and during treatment may make this treatment more effective.

The most common side effects of taking this medicine include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and fever. It may also cause other side effects. These side effects are most common at the start of treatment but if they persist your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing them.

Before using the medicine, tell your doctor if you have uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart disease, or gout (disease of joint pain). You should also tell him/her what other medicines you are taking in case they affect this treatment. Your blood pressure should be checked often during this treatment by you or your doctor. You may also need other regular medical tests to be sure this medicine is not causing harmful effects. It is not known whether this medicine will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

Uses of Erypeg Injection

Benefits of Erypeg Injection

In Treatment of Anemia due to chronic kidney disease

Anemia is a condition where your body does not have enough red blood cells to carry oxygen around your body. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) refers to the loss of normal kidney function over a long span of time. CKD progresses gradually over a few years but may become permanent if left untreated. CKD can lead to anemia. Erypeg 75mcg Injection can boost your levels of red blood cells and reduce the symptoms of anemia such as tiredness and weakness. Taking this injection improves the quality of life.

In Treatment of Anemia due to cancer chemotherapy

Low red blood cell count is termed as anemia. Cancer treatment with chemotherapy often causes many side effects, one of the major ones being anemia. Erypeg 75mcg Injection stimulates the production of red blood cells in bone marrow and regulates the haemoglobin in the blood. This treats anemia in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy.
