Dolorin Tablet is a prescription medicine used in the treatment of migraine. It blocks certain substances in the brain that trigger nausea or vomiting during migraine headaches.

Dolorin Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

The most common side effects are dryness in mouth, increased heart rate, and restlessness. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. Migraine attacks can be managed by identifying migraine-causing triggers which may be red wine, caffeine withdrawal, stress, and skipped meals, etc. You can identify personal triggers by maintaining a diary of what you are doing, what you are eating, and any stressful activity happened before migraine attack.

Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. You should tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you. While taking this medicine to try to avoid caffeine-containing food like chocolate, coffee, energy drinks, green tea, black tea, dark chocolate, etc.

How to use Dolorin Tablet

How Dolorin Tablet works

Dolorin Tablet is a combination of three medicines: caffeine, domperidone and paracetamol. Caffeine narrows the blood vessels in the brain to reduce headache. It also increases the effectiveness of paracetamol. Domperidone is a prokinetic which works on the region in the brain that controls vomiting. It increases the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily through the stomach. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-pyretic (fever reducer) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that causes fever and pain.

Breast feeding
CAUTION
Dolorin Tablet should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
Driving
UNSAFE
Dolorin Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
CAUTION
Dolorin Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Dolorin Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
CAUTION
Dolorin Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Dolorin Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, the use of Dolorin Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

What if you forget to take Dolorin Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Dolorin Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

I am facing issue of headache from last 3-4 years.i have consulted allopathy and they have given me sibelum 10 for migrane and asked to take metopar(paracetamol) when ever pain is too much.i am nit taking sibelum now but i am taking metopar when ever required.so i want a homeopathy consultatation if it can be cured by homeopathy or the level of headache can be lowered. Currently i face headache once in a week and i had to take metopar. Kindly suggest. My weight 80 kg And i am taking some neuro medicines ( stalopam 10, amitone 10) I also have cholesterol and taking (atorec 20)
